Pros and Cons of Linux

Thinking of switching over... If you've made the switch, how's it working for you?

Not a fan of Linux for home use. It's much cooler operating system and ethics behind the software but it just is too incompatible with regular home use....you need to have specialized knowledge to provide your own basic support settings on day to day use....and drivers is a problem as well as gaming, if that's a thing.

Much more secure than windows in terms of viruses though, is a huge plus and if you spend your PC time online then Linux is also fine. Some basic apps like a word processor, spreadsheets, like open-office is available and compatible with MS word and excel as far as i can remember when we used it at my previous work.

Thanks for the feedback Storm. Not really having issues with virus but more so with Windows 10. It seems a lot more buggy than previous. It keeps wanting to update my browser features but when I go to do the update it won't complete it. So every day I get a reminder message about doing the update. smh.

You should configure Windows correctly instead of switching to Linux. Try googling "windows 10 update says no", "windows 10 browser not updating", "windows 10 browser update not completing", "windows 10 browser update failing" etc... Give me remote access and I'll fix that shit for 500 dollah

Thanks Bob.. I tried googling it before but the suggestions did not remedy the situation. but I will try again using the search strings you suggested.

Windows update that won't complete...last time it was an Edge browser problem...

...sometimes changing browsers can cause it...or solve it.

Also I heard Ccleaner sometimes removes updates pending...maybe worth a look.

I don't like Edge either but doesn't take away the fact it sometimes messes with updates....
