I was on a bus over the last few days, I overheard school kids speaking utter dreadful put-downs about another student.
I instantly was appalled from what I heard, They were saying such things as such "he is down syndrome and retarded no matter he has no friends " and " he can't learn to realize he has no friends ".

I would never like to hear my own children to do this such behavior towards a special need child or any other child at this rate.

Bullying is one of the key factors of young people's suicide reasoning and to help prevent this is to help teach our kids, grandkids or the rest of our family to not condone such behavior at all and get them to learn the risks and consequences what they do and what others do towards another fellow student, friend or young person .

I use to think you have no idea when you eventually have a child and you don't know if you will have to become a father or a mother of a special needs child or a slow learning child. Not just this but a child who becomes a target of bullying at school.
If we such all over the world can make a difference and help prevent a cause of this area of an issue we can try to make a difference even if it is in our own family making least 1% chance of a change!

You nailed it PARENTS are the problem. It used to be if a kids got in trouble the parents backed whomever, coach, teacher, other parents. Now they will do anything to protect little Johnny or Debbie. Had a situation where we caught a student on video stealing an Ipad from the music department. ABSOLUTELY no doubt it was their kid. When we showed the video to the parents their first comment was "that's not my son". WTF !!
Parents need to be accountable for their children's actions, ultimately as a parent your are 100% responsible for that child until they are 18.
Be a parent and not their friend.
Teach them to respect other people, but not get walked over.
Teach them to embrace differences and not be close minded.
Listen before you speak.

In a lot of cases yeah.... but its not always the parents fault... I know people who have had good upbringings yet have still become wasters and trouble makers.... even serial killers in the same way I have seen people who have had shit unbringings do well and be successful in life. So you are just taking blame away from the kids.... Kids know right from wrong SIMPLE AS THAT... when they commit a crime they should be dealt with exactly like an adult... old enough to commit the crime old enough to do the time. simple as that.
