When the romans converted to Christianity (Catholicism) they changed they pagan holidays and made them Christian in order to fit it in with they pagan culture.
That's why some Christians don't actually celebrate easter or Christmas as proper religious holidays because they not, Jesus never said celebrate his birthday or remember when he died. He said remember him through eating and drinking.
And also Hell is also pagan... true Christianity early Christianity dosnt believe in hell as a place of fire, Hell translates to mean the grave.. DEATH.
But these days however they have become Christian holidays that's what they known for now so that's how it is.
