When we look at the reason for why many people start smoking, it's mostly because of peer pressure. Just to be cool at parties and with their friends. All that mostly starts even under the age of 18. Men aren't yet mature to even think about the consequence later. Because as soon as you start smoking once, then light up a second one and a third one, it's too late. It's hard to stop. That's why it can make some regret doing it after some time. I think the age 21 fits well because people don't really care much about social pressure at that age. Most of the people are already studying or are working and really starting to build their lives. It's at that time they can decide if they want to buy tobacco...

smoking is stupid but if you're an adult you should be able to stupid things and people or governments shouldn't be in control of what you do with your own body.

restrictions and regulations are just another form of control to keep people in line it used to be chains, but the chains have been replaced with laws, restrictions, regulations, taxes, fines, etc... all serving the same purpose enslavement.

Honestly... kids can enlist in the military at a much younger age than that so I think they should have the option to buy tobacco. The weight of that decision changes your life! If you look at other countries, kids are even able to drink + smoke at a young age.
To me, it won't make a difference if the government were to up the age. People are always able to get what they want, if they really wanted. If the government was so concerned about children's health and their future, they would pass environmental regulation laws lol

In norway they just make it damn expencive. If we buy a 20 pack of cigarettes, we have to pay 16-17 USD for it. I dont mind cause I dont pollute my lungs with that crap.

I think it's stupid and pointless. Those already 18-20 are grandfathered in so it won't change anything. Plus you can join military at 17(with parents permission)

Actually, there are no provisions in the law for any "grandfathering."
The FDA website reads it is now illegal for anyone under 21 to buy tobacco products.
