Sport fanatics

I am claiming us Aussies as the most sport fanatical nation. Today we have a public holiday for the AFL Football grand final (which is actually tomorrow but it lets us all go to the parade), and in about 5 weeks we have another public holiday for the Melbourne Cup (horse race). How do other countries demonstrate their love of sports and the importance of sports in their culture??????

I love to support my favorite teams, the New Englamd Patriots and the Boston RedSox. I don't watch much basketball or hockey, but if I did I would root for the Bruins and Celtics. I can't say that I'm fanatical about them, but I do support them, win or lose
