  • scams, and honey badgers.

This morning I am sitting at my work office. I get a call from someone with a very strong indian accent.

They represent themselves as working for the RCMP.

They can't speak english worth shit. They tell me that my mac address has been traced to sending out spam and I need to go through some exercise with them to help eliminate the problem.

The first clue is this indian guy has a name like kevin davis. DING DING DING>> goes the bell.

Remember when Blackberry didnt want to give out the code to India for security reasons. Keep this in mnid.

Ok so the guy gives me the proper address for cyber security issues and the proper phone number.

Unfortunately I already traced his phone number to a spoofed phone number. The RCMP would not do this.

I ask Kevin if he is related to the Honey Badger.

He asks me some questions and I couldnt get to deep into it without starting to crack up.

He starts going through a procedure. I try and explain to him how my ip gets streamed to my home work address when I am online and how the filters work going through this process. Clearly he isnt an internet guy or specialist other then trying to get some info.

It was weird that he did have my name when he called at the number I have for the work address. My home internet is hooked to my work who also pay for my internet service. So there is no way that gets used.

I had him on the phone long enough and was able to trace the call to India.

The number was coming through as if from just outside Toronto to a number that did not exist as valid.

I kept the person on the line for over 70 minutes. Then I asked to speak to honey badger supervisor.

I wait on the phone for about 3 minutes and this other guy comes on the phone. Same tone, same accent, mispronounces exactly some of the technical works exactly the same screwy honey badger way. So this guy is also suppose to be in ottawa. He says his name is Tyler Moore. lol .. I ask him if he is related to Mary . He doesnt have a clue. So I asked him about honey badgers life spans, what they like to eat.

After a bit like any honey badger you get to the point where you have to be movin along. I ask him for the director of the department for cyber crimes in Canada that works in the office at the address he provides.

    He hangs up.

Just a warning . If someone sounds like a honey badger, his story smells like a honey badger, don't give them any information.

Now we do have a lot of Indian people in government jobs in Canada , but no one is going to call you and start asking for information like this on the phone.

Be careful people. You never know when you going to run into a honey badger. They try and steal everything you got, and they dont care how they get it.

NP .. No one is interested in catching these guys and they keep getting smarter. They may actually have your info when they call and are just trying to get a confirmation. Some will actually get you to try and link up with them. Many will say they are from Microsoft.
If you get a virus then shut the fucking thing down and unplug from the internet till you get the shit off your computer.

It is him btw, ive spoken to him on xbox before and its the same voice :P

I simply said as a computer programer and a Microsoft employee I think I know "our" threats all too well. If you worked for Microsoft as you claim you wouldn't be contacting me as it is against company policy to do so. I am also running a trace on this call and will be in contact with my attorney shortly and they hung up XD

yes . I gave him a real hard time on his english. It is such a distinct voice. But what amazed me was the amount of activity there seemed to be in the background. Sometimes I call the numbers back with a soundboard. But I could tell this number was spoofed.
Serious business if they ever get your shit.

when people phone my home like this.. I either just put it down or I tell them to hold and I put the phone in front of the tv for a while until they put it down.. wasting they time and money lol. Sometimes I do a right stupid voice for the laugh of it. Or I mimick they voice back to them whether they yanks or Indians.

I got a message on my phone today saying I have 4k waiting for me to claim for an accident I apparently had... ive never had an accident or claimed for anything... So your best totally ignoring it... but they is some idiots out there that believe it..

Its like people who ''fall in love'' online and then get conned and send these people who they don't know money... its hard to have sympathy for them because they just idiots.

or people that get cards through they doors saying they won money BUT they need to send money to get it lol
